BITC Signals Strong Backing for Botswana’s Creative Sector at Dining with Diamonds Showcase. The Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the country’s creative sector, with senior leadership attending the Dining with Diamonds Dinner Theatre event on Friday, 11 July 2025, at Hotel 430 in Gaborone.
Led by Board Chair Ms. Gomolemo L. Madikgetla, Board Member Mr. Bakang Palai, and CEO Mr. Keletsositse Olebile, the BITC delegation’s presence highlighted the institution’s strategic focus on integrating creativity with investment opportunities. The event, a blend of gourmet dining and immersive theatre, showcased the potential of Botswana’s creative economy to drive innovation, youth employment, and entrepreneurship.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, BITC representatives noted that the Centre’s updated strategy now positions the creative sector as a priority area for investment promotion — recognising its potential to contribute meaningfully to GDP growth and job creation, especially among young people.
Dining with Diamonds offered guests a multi-sensory cultural experience, combining storytelling, live performance, and culinary art. It exemplifies the type of creative entrepreneurship that BITC aims to nurture through access to markets, funding pathways, and exposure to both local and international investors.
For Botswana entrepreneurs and business leaders, BITC’s endorsement signals an expanding space for innovation beyond traditional sectors. It also presents opportunities for strategic partnerships between creatives and the private sector to scale local productions, experiences, and brands.
