Business Botswana Reopens China Office to Boost Trade and Investment Opportunities. Business Botswana (BB) has relaunched its China Representative Office (BB-CHINA) during a high-level event held alongside the 4th China–Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) in Hunan Province. This move signals BB’s renewed commitment to strengthening Botswana–China trade relations, expanding investment opportunities, and encouraging long-term economic cooperation.
The relaunch was announced during the Botswana Investment and Business Promotion Government-to-Business (G-to-B) High-Level Roundtable Forum hosted by BB-CHINA. The event attracted over 150 participants, including more than 80 businesses from both countries, government officials, and private sector leaders.
Dignitaries included Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship Hon. Mmusi Kgafela, Hon. Onneetse Ramogapi (Minister of Water and Human Settlement), Dr. Motswiri Oupa Tsheko (Chief of Staff in the Office of the President), and Mr. Huang Xufeng (Deputy Mayor of Changde City).
BB President Neo Nwako highlighted Botswana’s investor-friendly reputation, citing opportunities in renewable energy, agriculture, mining, and digital innovation. He described BB-CHINA as a strategic hub for commercial engagement and investor support.
Key functions of BB-CHINA include:Acting as a gateway for Chinese investors entering Botswana;Facilitating B2B and G2B engagement;Providing investor support services; andEnhancing Botswana’s visibility in the Chinese market.
Several cooperation agreements were signed during the forum, covering sectors such as renewable energy, agricultural tech, smart manufacturing, and logistics.
