Entrepreneurs Gather for Insightful Coffee Session at BDIH Science Park. Botswana’s entrepreneurial spirit was on full display last week during a vibrant Coffee Session held at the Botswana Digital and Innovation Hub (BDIH) Science and Technology Park. The event attracted over 80 attendees, including aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators, and professionals eager to learn and network.
The highlight of the session was an engaging presentation by Lerang Selolwane, who set the tone with thought-provoking insights into the country’s growing innovation ecosystem. Also featured were representatives from the MIT Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship — Dr. Haitham Khoury, Director of Fellowships and Global Initiatives, and Senior Advisor Adel El Boseli. The MIT team shared global perspectives on entrepreneurship development, talent cultivation, and the role of collaboration in building thriving innovation hubs.
Throughout the morning, attendees posed insightful questions and exchanged ideas on how to scale their businesses, leverage partnerships, and drive inclusive economic growth. The session sparked a series of meaningful conversations, reinforcing the importance of community and knowledge-sharing in Botswana’s startup landscape.
Organizers credited the session’s success to the energy and participation of those present. “Let’s continue to connect, learn, and build together,” said one of the coordinators in closing remarks.
Entrepreneurs in attendance were encouraged to stay engaged and take advantage of similar forums aimed at strengthening local capacity in innovation and entrepreneurship.
