Botswana Coffee Brand Earns Pride Mark, Joins National Movement to Spotlight Local Excellence. Local coffee company Cups & Pups has officially received Brand Botswana’s Pride Mark, a symbol of quality and national pride for products made in Botswana. The announcement, shared via the brand’s social media platforms, celebrates this recognition as a nod to the company’s commitment to crafting locally roasted coffee that meets high standards.

The Pride Mark, issued by the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC), is designed to elevate homegrown brands by signaling authenticity, consistency, and a connection to Botswana’s identity. For entrepreneurs, especially in the food and beverage sector, it offers more than just a marketing badge, it’s a tool to compete in both domestic and international markets.

Cups & Pups, which operates through a mobile coffee model and sells through platforms like Take App, emphasized that the coffee is “proudly roasted right here at home.” The use of the mark now ties their product directly to Botswana’s national branding initiative, which aims to boost awareness of local products under the #PushaBW movement.

BITC responded with appreciation, stating: “Thank you, CUPS & PUPS, for answering the call to use the Pride Mark. This initiative significantly contributes to raising awareness of local products among Batswana and across the globe.”

Entrepreneurs in Botswana can apply for the Pride Mark through BITC, with application details available on their website. The initiative is seen as a valuable opportunity for small businesses looking to stand out in an increasingly competitive market.

As Cups & Pups takes this step forward, it sends a clear message to fellow local entrepreneurs: local excellence is not only possible, it’s something worth celebrating.
