Women in Tech Alumna Launches The Bees Hive Academy in Tati Siding. Women in Tech Botswana is celebrating the entrepreneurial achievement of one of its alumnae, Ontifile Gokgorwe, following the official opening of The Bees Hive Academy in Tati Siding. The academy, a new learning institution focused on early childhood development, was partially funded through Ontifile’s $5,000 Best Pitch Award from the inaugural Women in Tech Botswana Accelerator Programme.

Ontifile’s journey from a visionary entrepreneur to an education pioneer is a testament to the transformative power of innovation, mentorship, and targeted support for women in the tech and business sectors. Her pitch, which impressed judges for its community impact and scalable model, has now materialized into a space designed to foster learning and growth for young minds.

The Bees Hive Academy aims to provide quality foundational education in a nurturing environment, equipping learners with the tools to succeed in the classroom and beyond. The school will also serve as a model of how technology, entrepreneurship, and education can intersect to uplift rural communities.

The next edition of the Women in Tech Botswana Accelerator Programme is now accepting applications. Women entrepreneurs across Botswana with bold ideas are encouraged to apply by 31 May 2025.
