National Arts Council Deepens Ties with Creatives at Motswana Creatives Expo. The National Arts Council of Botswana (NACB) actively participated in the Motswana Creatives Expo on 2 May 2025 at FNB Park, affirming its commitment to nurturing the country’s creative economy through direct engagement and collaboration.
The event, themed “Support Deserving Local,” was organized by Bianca Gaba BW and served as a vibrant platform to spotlight Botswana’s creative talents across various disciplines. It brought together artists, designers, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders under one roof to celebrate innovation and explore opportunities for growth within the arts sector.
As a key exhibitor, the National Arts Council used the opportunity to share information about its role, programs, and the support mechanisms it offers to artists and cultural practitioners. Representatives from the Council interacted with creatives, providing insights on funding opportunities, regulatory frameworks, and ongoing efforts to professionalize the industry.
The Council’s presence at the expo aligns with its mission to build a sustainable and well-regulated arts sector in Botswana. By participating in such grassroots initiatives, the Council is positioning itself as both an advocate and enabler of artistic development, particularly in areas of policy support, skills development, and access to resources.
The Expo also provided a valuable platform for dialogue between creatives and institutions, fostering an environment where ideas and collaborations could take shape. The NACB noted the importance of such events in strengthening industry networks and enhancing public appreciation for the arts.
The National Arts Council expressed appreciation for the opportunity to connect directly with the creative community and reiterated its commitment to supporting the growth and recognition of Botswana’s artistic talent on national and international stages.
