De Beers Group Launches Diamond Sorting Course to Equip Aspiring Professionals. De Beers Group has announced the launch of its Diamond Foundation Rough Diamond Sorting Course, aimed at individuals interested in learning the fundamentals of rough diamond sorting. The program is designed to provide a foundational understanding of the processes used to categorize rough diamonds for valuation purposes.

The course introduces participants to the broader diamond value chain, focusing on the internationally recognized standards used to assess key diamond attributes: shape, colour, quality, and size. By understanding these core characteristics, participants will be better equipped to navigate the diamond industry with confidence and accuracy.

Open to individuals aged 18 and above, the course is conducted in English and includes both online learning and practical components. Participants will undergo vetting before attending the practical sessions, ensuring readiness and suitability for hands-on training.

The total course fee is P10,000, which covers both the one-month online segment and two weeks of in-person practical training. The training not only provides technical skills but also aligns with industry expectations for precision and standardization in diamond sorting.

This initiative forms part of De Beers Group’s ongoing commitment to education and skills development in the diamond industry. By equipping aspiring professionals with the knowledge required to work in this specialized field, the course supports broader efforts to strengthen the local talent pipeline.
